Reviews for Luisa's Cafe
Review highlights
Based on 366 reviewsLuisa's Cafe is a well-loved local spot in Baguio, known for its comforting, home-style Chinese dishes that resonate with the city's cool climate. Customers frequently praise the warmth and nostalgic atmosphere of the cafe, which attracts a mix of families, writers, and senior patrons. Signature items such as steamed chicken with ginger oil, pork tenderloin, and asado siopao receive particular commendation for their authenticity and flavor. While some find the food to be simple rather than adventurous, the overall feedback highlights consistent quality and a welcoming environment. Service is generally appreciated, especially on the ground floor, though the café experiences busy periods during peak hours. The cafe is celebrated as a reliable choice for satisfying, no-fuss meals in the area.
A place where writers here in Baguio frequent that serve no nonsense Chinese food.Ordered a couple of things on a rainy day. Must say the steamed chicken with ginger oil and the pork tenderloin Chinese style did not disappoint. In my opinion, rather than the noodles, get these instead Service was good as well. I think that the seats on the ground floor have better service. We’ve tried sitting at the 2nd floor too but I think that place does not have much attention as the ground floor does.
I would say the taste of the food is average? I am expecting more to be honest, but their food is still comforting, warm, homey and just suit Baguio's weather a lot. And the place looks very nostalgic, I've seen lots of seniors having a meet up here and it's really cute
Went to the restaurant with my family, we were delighted with our experience here. Hopefully, they make more stocks of the asado siopao since we didn’t get to try it then. Nevertheless, we’ll still come back!
One of the places we frequent in Baguio. Their food is comforting. I usually order their asado/bolabola siopao, and their beef mami or chicken mami. This place is mostly full of locals as well.
If tired from artsy, classy and overrated cuisine in baguio city … we can always go back to some of the familiar and tasteful dishes patience is a virtue during rush hour like from 5pm-7pm. #supportlocalbusiness
My go-to is chopsuey rice. Whenever on a budget but quality Baguio classic food, Luisa's is the go-to place. This is one of the oldest and original Baguio restaurants that there is. For merienda, the must-try is the siopao. I haven't tried the mami because I'm not a mami person but I will try it soon. The ates are always accommodating and Luisa's is not Luisa's without them. Some of them have been with the restaurant for more than 15 years. A true Baguio institution.
I rate this restaurant based on pure nostalgia. I grew up in Baguio and Luisa's cafe was the standard for Chinese cuisine.I make it a point to eat here out of pure support for the business. May it last forever.
Session Road institution serving Chinese goodies reminiscent of Old Binondo. Parking can be tough as it’s on the main road.
